Tasks of the Ethics Working Group are (Decree of the Board of the University of Oulu, December 17, 1997) 1. To stimulate and continue the debate on the University's values and ethical issues. 2. Consider ways to make all values visible in university work: in research, teaching, studying and administration, and in their exploitation. 3. Participate in discussions on the organization of ethics teaching at the various faculties of the University. 4. Support faculties in establishing ethics committees and in their subsequent work. 5. Organizing ethics-related meetings and events at the university and participating in similar projects at national and international level.
Between September 1, 2018 and August 31, 2021, special duties include:
Promotion of ethical and research ethical education and training at the University of Oulu and ethical issues related to open science and research.
