OYY's board in Sept.
Faculty Boards handle the administrations of faculties along with the Dean, the Vice Dean and Faculty Management Group. The Faculty Board approves the strategic measure programme of the faculty and determines the necessary resources for it, approves the action and financial plans of the faculty as well as the personnel plan, and follows and steers the informing of the faculty’s affairs to both staff and students. 1-3 members and 1-3 deputy members depending on the faculty are appointed to Faculty Boards for a two-year term.
The representatives can receive study credits (2 cr. / 2 year term, max. 10 cr. / student) and commissions (41,20 € per attended meeting / 2022) for their work.
The Board of OYY elects the student representatives of the organ in September. The term of the elected representatives begins immediately after. Eligible for the student representative position are all members of the student union who - have applied for the position by the deadline of the application period and - have registered as attending students of the University of Oulu by the 11 Sept 2022 and - have a study right in the Faculty of the organ. The selected applicants must be registered as attending students when acting as student representatives.
When appointing the student representatives, the Board aims to have equal representation from as many departments as possible. The selection process is conducted in accordance with the Act on Equality between Women and Men (609/1986).
Your application should include, at the least, the following information: your major subject and the state of your studies, your own objectives for working in the organ, your motivations and what, according to you, are the most important tasks of the student representatives.
