OYY's board in Sept.
The Education Committee is the faculty’s highest organ specializing in education. It prepares the educational measure programme and curriculums of the faculty and evaluates the quality of education activity. The Faculty Board or the Dean can delegate other duties to the Education Committee, such as the duties of the Degree Programme Committee in case such an organ has not been separately appointed. 1-3 members and 1-3 deputy members depending on the faculty are appointed to the Education Committee for a two-year term (excl. the Doctoral Training Committee).
The representatives can receive study credits (2 cr. / 2 year term, max. 10 cr. / student) and commissions (41,20 € per attended meeting / 2022) for their work.
The Board of OYY elects the student representatives of the organ in September. The term of the elected representatives begins immediately after. Eligible for the student representative position are all members of the student union who - have applied for the position by the deadline of the application period and - have registered as attending students of the University of Oulu by the 11 Sept 2022 and - have a study right in the Faculty of the organ. The selected applicants must be registered as attending students when acting as student representatives.
When appointing the student representatives, the Board aims to have equal representation from as many departments as possible. The selection process is conducted in accordance with the Act on Equality between Women and Men (609/1986).
Your application should include, at the least, the following information: your major subject and the state of your studies, your own objectives for working in the organ, your motivations and what, according to you, are the most important tasks of the student representatives.
