The Education Council supports the University Board of Directors and the rector in advancing education, provides initiatives regarding education policy as well as initiatives for developing teaching and evaluates the quality of University education. The chairperson of the education council is the vice rector of education.
The student representative positions offer an excellent opportunity to participate in University decision-making and the development and quality assurance of the education in the Univeristy of Oulu. The position demand responsibility, good interaction skills and motivation towards advocating students’ interests. The language of The Education Council meetings is English. The student representative is paid a remuneration from the meetings.
