APPLY TO THE SELECTION COMMITTEE OF THE FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE AND FORESTRY!
We are looking for at least three members to the Selection Committee of the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry to deal with the selection of student representatives in autumn 2019.
WHAT DOES THE SELECTION COMMITTEE DO?
The Selection Committee reads the applications for the positions of student representative in the faculty council and the University Collegium from the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry. The Committee then makes justified proposals to the Student Union’s Board and Representative Council on the persons to be selected. To conduct this task, the Selection Committee convenes during weeks 43–45 (detailed schedule below). The final decisions on the selections are made by the Board of the Student Union in the case of the faculty councils and HYY’s Representative Council in the case of the University Collegium.
In the Selection Committee, you will get to influence the student representation of the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry and ensure that the most motivated applicants are selected to look after students’ interests.
WHO CAN APPLY?
Prerequisites for acting in the Selection Committee are being a student registered for attendance in the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry and being able attend the Committee’s meetings according to the schedule below. Please note that you cannot act in the Selection Committee if you intend to apply to become a student representative in the faculty council of the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry or in the University Collegium as a representative of the faculty in question.
HOW DO I APPLY TO THE SELECTION COMMITTEE?
Applications should be submitted at www.halloped.fi by Monday 23 September 2019.
The application should clearly indicate your experience and motivation as relevant for the position as well as your current major and/or degree programme and study orientation. In your application, please also let us know whether you are available for the position of chair or vice chair of the Selection Committee. The application need not be long. Motivation and previous experience of acting as a student representative in administration, as a study advisor or in some other position related to student advocacy work are considered as advantages.
The Student Union hopes to receive applications from representatives of different genders and people from different stages of their studies from diverse backgrounds. At least three members will be appointed to the Selection Committee, and we will strive to take into account the representation of different disciplines when making the selections.
