Are you interested in what kind of teaching your degree programme features? Now you have the opportunity to take part in building the new degree programmes – by applying to an executive group!

Starting in 2017, teaching at the University of Helsinki is organised through Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes. The bodies primarily responsible for the contents and planning for these programmes are the executive groups of the degree programmes.

The tasks of the degree programmes’ executive groups are: 1) being in charge of preparing the curriculum 2) preparing a proposal on the curriculum for the faculty in charge 3) preparing a proposal on the application targets and selection criteria for the faculty in charge 4) preparing a proposal for the faculty in charge on the maximum number of students to be accepted into the degree programme 5) deciding on the degree programme’s teaching schedule 6) preparing the use of the degree programme’s teaching as well as its teaching and facility resources 7) taking care of organising Swedish-language teaching in the degree programme

Free-form applications addressed to the Board of the Student Union should be filled at www.halloped.fi by Monday 31 October 2016 at noon. The maximum length of the applications is 2,000 characters without spaces. The application should clearly demonstrate the applicant’s experience as relevant for the position, their motivation and their current major.

The Student Union considers previous experience of acting as a student representative in university administration, as a study advisor or as a student representative in various working groups developing teaching as well as connections to the faculty or subject organisation as advantages. The Student Union hopes to see applications from people of different genders.
